I took colored craft sticks and gave a color to each area for cleaning.
Then on each stick I wrote something to do.
There are some sticks just for me.
It may look like there are a lot of sticks for some rooms, but I tried to break it down so each thing wasn't overwhelming.
I have them sorted in cups, but I hope to switch to something cuter and with a label.
I am thinking about have a place for each of the girls to put their sticks after they complete a task. I have some empty buckets I brought home from school that might work out.
I will let you know how this works out. I am thinking it will be pretty successful since the girls were really excited to help me think of different tasks to do in each room.
Do you have a successful system for having your kids do chores?
YES! We use this and it works GREAT: https://www.familyorganizer.com/product.aspx?id=2
ReplyDeleteWe're not all that good at staying tidy here! One thing I've used with some success at a quick clean up is what I call a 5/15. I set the timer for 5 minutes and the girls need to each pick up 15 things. If they put away 15 things before the timer goes off, they're done. It's quick enough that the girls don't get overwhelmed, but can really put dent on the clutter.
ReplyDeleteThat last comment was from your cousin Tina - for some reason it didn't put in my ID.
