4th of July Fun

We had a fun 4th of July.  
On Saturday we went to Detroit to spend the day with James' family - grandpa, aunts, uncles, cousins.  

The drive there went pretty well.  We did get backed up by a semi that started on fire.  Since we were sitting in the sun Ariel started to get a little sunburn on her arms.  I set up a little sun protection tent in the car for her. 

It was a pretty warm day so James and Annabelle did some swimming and Ariel swam (as in put one foot in) this cute little crab pool.

We sat on the swing while we watched Daddy play volleyball.  We may have had too many people on the swing because one minute we are swinging along and the next we are on the ground.  I guess it didn't help that it was 15 years old and appeared to be rotting a little bit.

The ride home was a little rough.  We planned to drive home so they would fall asleep at their normal bedtime and just stay sleeping when we got home.  The problem was that I didn't feel very good so we left a little earlier than planned.  The girls did fall asleep, but they also woke up.  It was a rather long drive home, but we made it.  We had a fun time seeing the family though.

We also celebrated the 4th on the 5th.  We did some more grilling and swimming.
